if ya car goes over the 90's there will be a reason
1) its only done it by a fracvtion and you were sat in traffic for an hour right up the exhuast pipe of a lorry
ANSWER.FORGET IT ANY CAR BLOODY WOULD!
2) it heats up very quick and storms up the gauge with higher revs and all the time in traffic and also your fans run more than sit off
ANSWER...
PARK THE CAR OPEN THE BONNET(ITS THE METAL SHEET OVER THE ENGINE BAY)
LOOK AT THE CONDITION OF THE RADIATOR ESP. IN THE AREA OF THE FAN SHROULDS IF YOU SEE CORROSION ON THE ZIG ZAGGY FINS THAT SIT BETWEEN THE ACTUAL WATER CHANNELS THIS RAD IS FECKED!..IF THEY LOOK LIKE A COLAPSED HEAP OF FURRY WHITE CRAP...THIS RAD IS FECKED!
THESE COST A WHOLE TERRIBLE £100 TO BUY
IF NOT MOCVE ONTO CHECKING /REPLACING THE THERMOSTAT
IF AFTER YOU HAVE CHECKED VISUALLY THE RAD CONDITION AND CHANGED THE STAT
YOUR NOW TALKING NICELY TO YOUR SAVINGS ACCOUNT OR CREDIT CARD
TIME FOR NEW WATER PUMP AND CAM BELTS!
HOPE THIS HELPS WILL ANYONE READ IT BEFORE POSTING AGAIN ABOUT OVER HEATING

mr porter in that case welcome to the water pump and cam belt v6 club...i got off easy like with a circa £700 bill...this only happened first as my belts had to be changed anyways...was still the same even though the water pump had a slight crack in it.......so i done the rad after...incidently at a £170 cost instead of the £500 cost alfa wanted to do the rad

And in case you missed it, this is what a fecked radiator looks like.
Note that most of the green stuff was hidden by the fan.
Changed it ---- SORTED
Took me about 2 hours and cost £103

ok, so it was getting so hot I could cook my bacon on it and had a look inside and the rads fine, and the water pumps fine because I just had the cam done and there was nothing wrong with it.
Problem..... no coolant
How much is that going to have fecked the engine up? Any ideas??
