gotta be a loose connection - check the wires under the seats?

If it's the red light you're talking about then I would fear the worst - it could well be your airbag ecu at fault.

If it was just a connection problem then the fault would be logged and the light would be on permanently - until it's reset with examiner.

Unless of course - it IS actually on permanently - and you've got some dodgy wiring or the bulb is loose!!!

you might not consider it 'charm' if something hits you mate - and none of your airbags go off!

fix the fault and get the system reset fella - 30mins & £35/40 at a dealer or any of the specialists with an Examiner.

I swear I wrote off a Rover 25 at over 35mph once but the airbags still didn't deploy!

On my old mondeo, my airbag light used to come on whenever somebody adjusted my passenger seat.

A bit of juggling with the wires under the seat used to sort it out

Not very scientific, but it did the trick.

Look for a loose connection to the seats.

My '05 Veloce's airbag light came on a couple months ago and has been on ever since - apart from the occasional half hour 'off'. It's under warranty but the dealer's 120 miles away...I've removed the two under seat connectors and sprayed them with switch cleaner, but no improvement.
Worryingly, the Alfa handbook says that this not only means the 'bags won't fire on impact, but might activate during normal driving!!!
I'll get it fixed on its annual service in Feb 07, in the mean time, it's fingered crossed driving for me. Awkward during a chicane I can tell you.

Don't owrry about it, it's from the passanger's seat airbag and once the error gets logged, the light will stay on untill a reset. You can reset it either at a dealer, mine was free and took about 2 minutes, or by an ECU reset. For me, the second time it happened, the second option worked, but I do not guarantee it will work in every case.

Oh, so Alexandrus, you're saying (I hope) that now I've switch-cleaner-sprayed the passenger seat connector, the airbags will work OK, it's just that the warning light will stay on until reset by the dealer?
Let's hope you're right.
Anybody else have a view on this lottery?

Yes, the airbag will work OK, but the light will stay on as long as the error is logged. You can clean the log at the dealer or you can just try a computer reset(about an hour without battery connected worked for me).
