Sorry I don't agree, I think the pre facelift is really dated like some Japanese cars date quickly. All a matter of taste but really sorry if it offends, but I think the pre facelift decided ugly and dated now.

It only looks dated because it was replaced and the facelift cars look more like the current 159. In absolute terms the original was prettier and once the 159 is long forgotten it will be the original 156 that's considered to be prettier.
20 years from now it will be the pre-facelift cars that are sought after as classics. In fact, I'll narrow it down to the 2002-2003 cars - the ones with the new interior, paddle-shift Selespeed and JTS engine, but without the squarer front end and pointless creases on the bootlid. They are the rarest of the bunch and the cream of the crop. That's the future classic.

The future classic IMO is the 156 GTA, old shell, facelft interior and 3.2V6 mill. That is what I shall be backing.
