Hi guys, Im going to buy a bi-xenon hid kit for my 00 156, i was just wondering is their anything in particular i need to know when purchasing them or not, ive searched around on the forum and found plenty of info on the low beam xenon hid kits only but nothing on bi-xenon's. So far ive put in the order for a bi-xenon hid kit H7 in 6000K. Thanks for any advice you guys can give me. Will post pics once its all in.

I have a feeling most people only upgrade the dipped beam ...

By bi-xenon H7 do you mean you get two H7 lamps per side? That won't work ... 156 has one H7 (dipped) and one H1 (main) ... but I'm sure you know that.

Yea gazza thats where i thought the problem would lie but i've been told that if i only do the dipped beam then i would not be able to use the high beams on the car?, ive provided a ebay link to the kit im looking at buying, go down around half way on the page and you will see the bi-xenon bit? Thanks for your advice mate but thats where im actually a bit unsure on, will it work?

ok guys i think ive figured it out, Bi-xenon lamps can only be done on H4's. So that leaves me with that same question, if i install a Hid kit dipped beam only, will i still be able to use the high beams as it is a seperate bulb or not?

You still use the main beam but the HID's would still look brighter (they did on my cousin's car)

Yeah they do - and what you can see of the main beam looks horribly yellow....

Also, with the headlights off, when you high beam someone, your HID will flash too.

Not good for HID kits as they are generally poor quality.

Just learn not to flash people

Yes that is a pain, it would be nice to find a way of making the flash function only flash main beams.

I'm surprised the kits don't incorporate some sort of cirtuit to delay them activating until power has been applied for say 2 seconds.

OHHHHHHHHHH this is exactly what I noticed this afternoon when I installed H7 HID KIT on my 156 00. I thought that it was not normal at all. I thought that when flashing, only main beams H1 switch on ...

Hummm well... It certainly should be a way to have a flash function that commands only H1 lamps... A mecanic told to me that tomorrow he will fix that for me let's see ...
