my starter has been a bit sticky recently just need to know how to get it out and then give it a good clean etc .thanks in advance, oh ive got a 2.0ts.

can anyone help as today it has just been clicking and not starting the car, and now its turned into it not engaging at all and just spining away

Jack the front end up , lower onto axle stands,remove the tray, starter motor lives at the bottom of the engine and is quite well tucked away. Hopefully someone will be along soon with a bit more detail. I remember seeing mine when I changed the auxilliary belt.

mot likely you will have to remove the battery + tray & thottle body housing + hoses in order to gain access to the bolts that holds it in place.

i tried today and i could not get to the lower bolt at all, from underneath or on top, hit it with a hammer not to hard, and it stil made a crunch noise, tried to start again and it just clicked and was jammed, left it an hour and it just spins and not engage. stupid car really need help and details on how to get it out...

Thew only one I know is to put the car in top gear and rock it , this may unstick the bendix . worth a try ..........

i did that actually and it realsed it but now it stuck and wont come out to engage to the fly wheel..so still not staring..
