Opening my car's boot has been a source of annoyance for me for the past 6 months or so. 1/2 the time when the internal handle was pulled the boot latch failed to release. If i pushed the boot down & re-pulled it then most times it'd release but lately 90% of the time i needed to open it by key ..... i that flippy boot badge setup.
Anyhow, as today is wet i decided to sort it out. Quite easy to do as it turned out.
Tools:
small flat head screw driver
middle sized cross headed screw driver
1. open boot, via internal release or by key
2. remove the 4 circular blanks, of the panel that surrounds the boot hasp/lock, with the flat headed screw driver
3. open the 4 cross headed screws with the cross headed screw driver
4. remove the panel that surrounds the boot hasp/lock
5. lean forward & bend over to look under the boot hasp/lock
6. the cable has white end with notches in it. Remove the cable, with the flat headed screw driver, & move it one notch to the LEFT.
7. close the boot, keeping keys in your pocket [ just in case ] & pull the internal release handle. Should feel tighter & the boot should open easier
8. replace panel, screws & blanks.
9. Have a 'brew'
