My gear lever has never been the tightest I will admit (was the first thing Chris155 noticed) but I have learned to live with the 'sloppy' feel - tonight I was leaving the mcdonalds drive thru & it is now fooked
I can select gears just about, (really struggle to find reverse) but now there is a ridiculous amount of movement
See vid below: (I engage first & second gears)
loose lever
I am guessing it is the part that was in Herbi's thread:
Does that sound correct? TIA

I actually had the gear lever completely break and stick in 2nd gear. (At least I could drive home!)
It was quite expensive to repair as it came as an all-in -one kit.
But now I have a nice shiny new genuine Alfa gear knob!
But it did cost me over £500 inc labour to fit....

Don't rely on Herbi giving it to you.
Asked him myself a while back and he never got back to me

Its definately the problem and the part itself isn't that expensive.

Am I right in saying that it is accessed from below the car?
If so, want to do this when I finally get round to de-catting her.
