Here is the 210 fuel rail, as you'll see, the layout is totally different and the issue doesnt exist - as that hose isnt there!

So far then, the 210 has a different turbo, manifold fuel rail, engine wiring loom, pipework and ECU.

Some dealers still think its just a remap though!

well another update,

had to hassel simonstone about the pipe problem

they are now blaming the pipe is failing because my engine cover is not fitted proply

they have given me this quote,

parts number,    description,    ;    price exc vat.

13125570        &nbs p;  collar       &nb sp;         &nb sp;  £1.04
51769523        &nbs p;  cover       &nbs p;         &nbs p;   £70.71
55193045        flex sleeve          &nbs p;     £11.89
71747919        elastic pad           & nbsp;    £6.00

so add on %15 vat & labour,

approx = £160.

well i am going to tape up the pipe further, to keep it going,

i am going to get a second opinion,

& search for more jtdm,s with the same problem, i am not going to pay that!.

I can let you know that this problem occurs on the 200Bhp 2.4 fitted to all these cars:

Fiat Croma 2005 -
Lancia Thesis 2001 - 2007
Alfa 159 2005 -
Alfa 166 2001 - 2007
Alfa Brera 2005 -
Alfa Spider 2006 -

And the fix is to dremel away the cover around where the hose runs. It's a pretty standard fix that all dealers should be aware of now.

Hi All,
Just thought I'd check this on mine as im on ~15K now and although I do not have the wear on the hose I do have a little wear on the Aircon pipe and on the pipe to the right of the hose. The picture of the engine cover shows where the aircon pipe is rubbing.

Out of intrest what is the bit they dremel off to stop the rubbing on the hose as mine appears to be pretty flat?

Regards

Rob

Rob, mine is the same as yours - a different issue to the first one!

sorry cj, thats a 200bhp one same what mine was,

but what i have observed is that rob,s has a rubber piece on the pipe that feeds to the injector level with my frayed pipe, as can be seen on pics mine is missing, why i do not know but that could be a contribution to my pipe fraying.
