I've had intermittent beeping and flashing from my 2004 V6 Sportwagon for some time, so finally had the codes read. The reader said fuel injector and coil on cylinder 2 have been cut off. Hoping that the CPU turned off the injector on purpose when the coil didn't work, I went ahead and replaced the coil and moved the injector from cylinder 2 to 1, thinking that if there was a problem I could tell if it was the injector or something else.

The problem moved to cylinder number 1. Then the problem moved to the parts desk, as I can not find a fuel injector, new or used, online or at the dealer, for my car. The dealer says that Bosch is out of them, and they have no way to get them.

So, can anyone point me to a Bosch 0 280 156 039, or an Alfa / Fiat 6066 4640? Or is this the end for the Busso 24V V6??

Many thanks,

Dru

You may have to go to ebay....

ShopAlfa Shop Shop4parts and EB Spares don't seem to have any.

It may be worth contacting Alfa specialists such as Alfa Workshop as they may have secondhand ones. Just do a search for Alfa Specialist.

There are also breakers around that may be able to help.

Its not the end yet....

Thank you Richard. No luck on eBay .de, .co.uk, or .it. I have emailed Alfa Workshop with my need.

Do you have a trusted breaker? I can google, but if you have someone you count on I would love to know about him.

Dru

I can't recommend a breaker, but the Alfa specialists may be able to advise.

They're enthusiasts, just like us!

No reply on my email from them; may have to make that international telephone call.

My neighbor found a Spanish (!) website that lists the injectors as available for sale. We'll see tomorrow....

OK, having been through (seemingly ) every parts supplier on the continent and in the UK, I have one lead who might have some used injectors.

IF NOT, what would be the effect of replacing the defective injector with an earlier one, which seem to be quite available?

If that won't work, what about swapping all of them?

I'm not sure, its worth searching this forum for information.

If you change one, I'd change them all.

Something at the back of my mind says it'll be OK

I have installed an earlier (yellow) injector, and the engine runs lumpy and returns a P0600 code while beeping madly at me. Is this the substitute injector, or is something else going on?

CJ, I have written Richard. Thank you for the tip.

The yellow injector will be over fuelling, the ECU just pulses the same duration as the black one.

I dont think they are individually coded as per the JtD ones, with those you have to input the injector code through diagnostics when changing them, as they have subtle differences.
